Abstract

The article reports on a research aimed at exploring potential association between monovalent H1N1 vaccine and/or H1N1-containing trivalent influenza vaccine and occurrence of Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) in Victoria, Australia. The study conducted on September 30, 2009-September 30, 2010 established an active surveillance system for GBS in 10 hospitals in Victoria. The study found 66 cases of probable GBS in the 12-month study period. The article also discusses the study's conclusions.
