Abstract

The heteroleptic nickel-2-aminopyridine complex of (acac) (CH3COO)Ni(2-NH2Py)2 (acac = acetylacetonate, 2-NH2Py = 2-aminopyridine) has been synthesized and structurally characterized. In the complex, an Ni2+ ion is six-coordinated by one acac− anion, one CH3COO− anion, and two 2-NH2Py molecules to form a distorted octahedron. Two molecules of 2-NH2Py coordinated to an Ni2+ ion in a cis-configuration. There are two intermolecular hydrogen bonds between NH2 group and the neighbor acetate, developing in two different directions to result in a 2D supramolecular network. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
