Abstract

A X-band amplifier using microwave power has been developed for Wireless applications .Operating under a single power supply this one stage amplifier has 10 dB of typical gain for the entire 1.56 GHz bandwidth (9.44GHz - 11 GHz).This amplifier is designed for application of data and video transmission on AL<subscript>2</subscript>O<subscript>3</subscript> _ Ceramic substrate of thickness of 0.635 mm and relative permittivity of 9.8. To maximize the performance of the amplifier this requires insert networks to adapt input and output of the amplifier with conjugate adaptation. Simulations with Ansoft Designer with the results obtained by inserting different networks to adapt at the input and the output of the transistor are different gain and bandwidth .A maximum gain of 10 dB is obtained with a bandwidth of 1.56 GHz with a triple open stub at the input and a symmetrical open stub at the output of the MESFET transistor.
