Abstract

The article offers information on a study on the Chelkar Peridotite-Gabbronorite Pluton in Kazakhstan. It informs that Chelkar pluton is composed of peridotites, gabbro, and norites which is intruded by large bodies of Late Ordovician granites. It was found in the study that the Chelkar pluton having a complex layered intrusive body was formed in the late Middle-early Late Ordovician and cannot be a part of the ophiolitic section. It informs that it was marked by the intense magmatic activity of the Stepnyak-North Tien Shan ensialic island arc having the Kokchetav massif in its back part.
