Abstract
- The article describes teeth of several animals. One of the animals with mysterious teeth is the Sulawesi babirusa. From the jawbone of babirusas, the upper canines grow vertically up through the cheek and then curve toward its head. Considered a useful tool, the tusks of African elephants may be used to dig for water, overturn and move trees, and even mark territories. Another animal, the silvery mole rat's long incisors are used for digging underground tunnels where it lives.
