Abstract

The article presents a cross-sectional study which examined the use of hypertension guidelines from the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) in primary care practices in the Lambeth borough of England. The study categorized patients by age, ethnicity, comorbity, blood pressure control calculation and hypotensive medication. There was no correlation between ethnicity and adherence to the nationally-accepted guidelines on hypotensive treatment.
