Abstract

The article offers information on the dengue global epidemiology trends (DGET). It mentions that DGET comprises of several determinant factors including demographic changes along with population growth, increased urban population size due to rural to urban migration and modifications in public health policies and infrastructures. It includes that DGET is characterized by fast expanding geographic distribution of dengue vector infestation, the risk of infection and transmission of disease. It adds several approaches for improving surveillance of vaccine-preventable diseases which include encouraging reporting, ensuring adequate investigation of suspected cases and improving easiness and completeness of reporting mechanisms.
