Abstract
- The article describes a study comparing the neuropsychological function and emotional processing in major depressive episode (MDE) and social anxiety disorder (SAD), and analyzes effects of gender on the same. The results revealed that the percentage of depressed patients who smoked cigarettes (17.8 percent) was significantly higher than SAD group (10.0 percent), and that the pattern of impairment in MDE was independent of the gender.
