Abstract

The article provides an overview of the origins, effect and legacy of the Risk Regulation Advisory Council (RRAC). It states that RRAC was formed in 2008 under the Labour government in Great Britain focusing on the politics of risk to produce better regulations. It discusses RRAC's approach to managing risks which are considered innovative and radical. It is the author's view that RRAC failed to understand that risk regulation is about leadership and politicians.
