Potato: A New Host Plant of Tuta absoluta Povolny (Lepidoptera: Gelechiidae) in Turkey.

The article discusses a research that monitors the population of Tuta absoluta, a tomato moth, every week and assesses the damage in the potato growing areas of Karapinar Station of Konya Source of Soil and Water Research Institute in Turkey. Three pheromone traps were placed in two different potato production field to monitor T. absoluta populations on potato. Results reveal that T. absoluta fed on potato in the absence of tomato as host and caused damage in economical level. The pest also has three generations in a year.
