Abstract
- The article reports on the state of the U.S. fixed-income securities market as of September 2012. The market is affected by several factors such as high unemployment rate, declining consumer confidence, and the political gridlock that resulted in a downgrade of the nation's sovereign-debt status. Despite such negative factors, bonds are booming as global demand for U.S. treasuries remains high.
