Abstract: The Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility (SSRF), a 3.5 GeV storage ring based third generation light source, became open for user operations in May 2009. The performance of the SSRF complex and its user operation status in the past three years are described in this article. Brief descriptions of the experiments and achievements of some researchers at SSRF are also presented. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
