The article reports on the findings from an annual data released by Cerulli Associates Inc. in August 2012 on the state of the financial advisor industry in the U.S. It shows that the number of financial advisors dropped 2.3% in 2011 while independent brokers declined 10.7%. It also indicates the growth in wirehouse broker headcount with 41.1% of asset market share in 2011. A table is presented which lists the top 100 wirehouse advisors including Mark Curtis, Karen McDonald, and Drew Zager.
