Chapter Thirty-Nine: Romantic Love: A Patchwork.

Chapter 39 of the book "Sex, Love and Friendship" is presented. In it an essay is given defending the author's assertions regarding the essential elements of romantic love, put forth in her initial essay "Romantic Love: Neither Sexist Nor Heterosexist," included within the volume. Specific criticisms made by Alan Soble, Rolf Johnson, and Dana Bushnell are addressed and rebutted. Her conclusions are then reasserted identifying five primary aspects of romantic love.
