Abstract

A high-affinity binding site for N-acetylchitooligosac-chlaride elicitor was found to localize in the plasma membrane from suspension-cultured rice cells. Binding kinetics as well as the specificity of this binding site corresponded well with the behavior of the rice cells to the editor. These characteristics suggest that the binding site represents a functional receptor for N-acetylchitooligosaccharide elicitor in rice. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
