New process for calculating driver, vehicle, hazmat out-of-service.

The article informs that the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) has changed the process for calculating driver, vehicle, and hazardous materials out-of-service (OOS) rates and crash from July 27, 2012. It has been informed that the new process uses eight years of data from Motor Carrier Management Information System (MCMIS) to determine the national average for eligible crash and OOS thresholds that qualify for Hazardous Materials Safety Permit (HMSP) program.
