Climbing the Ladder? High-Technology Export Performance in Emerging Europe.

In this article, the author discusses the development of high-technology industrial exports (HTIE) in advancing Europe. He argues the significance of innovations in technology to cope up with Great Recession. He presents an index of HTIE performance to categorize the development patterns of HTIE across emerging Europe. He adds that a comparative study of the development patterns reveals progress in increasing across-product sophistication and across-product diversification.
