Abstract

The article offers information on a population-based cohort study which describes the time trends in total laryngectomy health services across the U.S. for laryngeal cancer treatment. It states the rate of incidence of laryngeal cancer has dropped less in comparison to the rate of total laryngectomy when treated nonsurgically. It reflects that a primary surgery for advanced laryngeal tumors can be replaced by an induction chemotherapy followed by radiotherapy.
