Abstract

The article discusses popular culture, cultural values, and cultural analysis, particularly in the U.S. It comments on cultural programming, or what the author calls "The Playbook," which concerns how people behave and think within culture. The author examines her particular interest in mainstream culture and reflects on her work with Walt Disney Imagineering, the design and development branch of the Walt Disney Company. The relationship between culture and business and sales issues is also considered.
