Abstract

Power system restoration decision-making is one of the most important and indispensable issues for ensuring fast power supply restoration to end users. In recent years, the power industry around the globe has been undertaking an in-depth restructuring, and this has led to some new challenges to the problem of service restoration. Service restoration is a complicated combinatorial and multi objective, multi constraint optimization problem that often has a great number of candidate solutions to be evaluated by the operators. This paper presents a comprehensive review of the various Computational Intelligence Techniques applied to solve Distribution Service Restoration problem reported in the specialized literature. As part of this review, a classification of the approaches is included, and a main feature of each proposal has been identified. In the last part of the paper, some of the topics within this field that are considered as promising areas of future research are listed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
