Abstract

The article discusses a study on the use of SCIAMACHY WFM-DOAS XCO2 to determine errors related to reduction of scattering. The study develops a new version of the retrieval algorithm (WFMDv2.2) to enhance the quality of the SCIAMACHY XCO2 data product. It validates the new XCO2 data using ground-based observations from the Total Carbon Column Observing Network (TCCON). It also compares NOAA's global CO2 modelling and assimilation system CarbonTracker.
