Abstract

A two dimensional coordination polymer with pseudo-Kagomé net [Cu<subscript>3</subscript>(btc)<subscript>2</subscript>(NH<subscript>3</subscript>)<subscript>8</subscript>(H<subscript>2</subscript>O)] was prepared from Cu(NO<subscript>3</subscript>)<subscript>2</subscript> ·3H<subscript>2</subscript>O and 1, 3, 5-benzenetricarboxylic acid (btc) in ammonia aqua solution and was structurally characterized by X-ray diffraction. The magnetic susceptibility measurements, measured from 2 to 300 K, revealed a weak anti-ferromagnetic interaction between the Cu<superscript>II</superscript> ions via the btc ligands.
