Age and Sex Dependence of Forced Expiratory Central Airway Collapse in Healthy Volunteers.

The article highlights a study which examined the effect of age and sex on forced expiratory tracheal collapse in healthy people. Low-dose computed tomography (CT) scanning was performed on the healthy subjects at total lung capacity (TLC) and during force exhalation with spirometric monitoring and coaching. Results of the study revealed that men exhibited positive age dependence of forced central airway collapse.
