Abstract
- The article focuses on the use of the problem-based learning (PBL) approach at the University of Maastricht (UM) in the Netherlands. It cites several features of the approach such as its focus on students, tutorial groups conducted by students and group processes. It says that PBL helps the students in developing research skills, selecting related sources and analysis of the literature. It adds that the scheme is directed by a steering board, under the university's vice chancellor.
