Abstract
- The article presents the findings of a research conducted on examining circulating tumor cells endowed with mesenchymal or stemness characteristics, at the time of initial diagnosis. It mentions that epithelial mesenchymal transition (EMT) is a crucial event involved in dissemination of epithelial cancer cells. It discusses the methodology of the research. It concludes that mesenchymal or stemness characteristics might facilitate assessment of new drugs in clinical trials.
