Abstract

Information about several papers discussed at the Seventh Congress of the European Society for Research in Mathematics Education (CERME 7) held February 9-13, 2011 in Poland on mathematical content knowledge needed for teaching (MCKT) is presented. Topics include the lesson study research, the problem solving-oriented approach, and an inquiry-based approach to mathematics. The evolution of teachers' beliefs and practices in collaboration with researchers over the long term is also tackled.
