Abstract

The article presents information on the highly litigious non practicing entity (NPE) plaintiffs and offers discussion on the various criticisms of and justifications for NPE. It informs that scholars believe in the growing number of patent plaintiffs who do not sell or produce product are immune to counter claim for patent infringement. The different types of NPEs include failed companies, universities and individuals and states that patent troll wait for an industry to develop and exact toll.
