Abstract

X-ray waveguides are efficient in the generation of nanometre sized beams in the hard X-ray spectral region. This chapter addresses the theoretical behaviour of waveguides in two coupling geometries: resonant beam coupling and front coupling. A quantitative estimation of the transmission efficiency, not elsewhere reported, is presented. For front coupling a detailed study of the internal field structure is reported for a range of structured incident wave-fields. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
