Abstract

The article reports that the St. Charles, Missouri City Council approved on June 5, 2012 a 9.6-million-billion tax increment financing (TIF) subsidy to develop the Lindenwood Town Center. The 28-acre mixed-used development will include a new Schnucks supermarket, housing for Lindenwood students and possibly a new post office. Under the scheme, the TIF will divert new tax revenue generated by the development to help pay for the project's cost.
