Abstract
- The article discusses a study which compared the differences for male and female candidates with respect to their knowledge relating to sex-specific questions in the Applied Knowledge Test (AKT). A cross-sectional design utilizing routinely collected performance and demographic data from the first three versions of the AKT was used. It notes that choice of doctors by patient is often related to interpersonal skills, clinical behaviour and expertise rather than the physician's sex.
