Abstract
- This article discusses a study on the role of media and deference to scientific authority in the development of trust in sources of information about nanotechnology in the U.S. This study shows that deference to scientific authority and attention to public affairs media are key factors in cultivating trust in governmental agencies and trust in scientists. It concludes that science media use and nanotechnology knowledge predict trust in scientists. It shows that science knowledge is associated with support for science.
