Abstract

In this paper, we present a new numerical schema to model the crack growth without remeshing. We proposed an algorithm that couples the level set method with the double degenerated finite element DQPE to solve the elastic-static fatigue crack problem: The LSM is used to represent the crack location, including the location of crack tips. The DQ-FEM is used to compute the stress and displacement fields necessary for determining the rate of crack growth. The results obtained are compared to reference solutions and show excellent agreement. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
