Name Authority in a NOTIS Environment - Auburn University Libraries.

During the years 1984-85, the arrival of an integrated automated library system (NOTIS) forced Auburn University Libraries to reevaluate the status of its name authority system. Central to the evaluation process was the preservation of the major investment made in the card name authority file as a result of AACR2. To achieve this, a process of migrating the valuable information from the card file into an online environment was developed.
