Abstract

The authors at Concordia University suggest that the pressurized cavity principle creates a second envelope of uniform high positive pressure around the building. This pressure is achieved with the application of valves on the outer part of the cavity walls of the building with the cavity pressure being higher than the wind pressures and rain penetration is more likely to be prevented than the rain screen principle.
