Abstract
- Research on the influence of fume colloidal silica on the phase composition of the MgO-SiO<subscript>2</subscript>-H<subscript>2</subscript>O system was carried out by differential thermal analysis (DTA), thermo-gravimetric analysis (TG), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscope (SEM). Experimental results indicate that MgO powder, fume colloidal silica and water can react with each other at 110 °C and a new phase consisting of gel magnesium silicate hydrate Mg<subscript>3</subscript>(Si<subscript>4</subscript>O<subscript>10</subscript>)(OH)<subscript>2</subscript> is formed.
