Abstract: The article presents a study which investigates the decline of Epstein-Barr virus (EBV)-specific IFN T cell responses among infants in a malaria holoendemic region in Kenya. It is inferred that the decline in IFN T cell responses may lead to Burkitt's lymphoma. The role of Plasmodium falciparum infections in the loss of EBV-specific immunity is outlined.
