Abstract

Morphometric spine in the fetus and newborn is a current subject of the literature. In this study we aimed to seek a series of morphometric indices of fetal hemiarch lumbar spine and newborn to correlate with age and/or sex of fetuses and newborns. This paper has surveyed a group of ten bodies of infants and fetuses. Preparations were obtained by cold and hot maceration technique. Necessary images to the study were acquired using data acquisition interface Matrox Comet and processed using dedicated morphometry program Lucia-M. In conclusion we obtained a series of morphometric indices of fetal hemiarch lumbar spine and newborn to correlate with age but I did not found a correlation with the sex of the studied subjects.
