The article tackles issues regarding Quebec government's Bill 14, an Act respecting the development of mineral resources in keeping with the principles of sustainable development aimed to amend the existing Mining Act. Based on Quebec's Plan Nord Materials, Bill 14 is set to reconcile a range of land uses, stimulate exploration work on claims and guarantee the cost of rehabilitating mine site. Québec Meilleure Mine and Nature Québec are reluctant in supporting the bill.
