Abstract
- The article presents information on the herpes zoster vaccination in the people of age between 50 and 59 Years. It states that Herpes zoster caused by reactivation of latent varicella-zoster virus (VZV) in the dorsal root or cranial nerve ganglia manifests as unilateral acute pain accompanied by a vesicular rash. It also states that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved Zostavax in 2006 to prevent shingles. Demonstration of the efficacy of Zostavax is also discussed.
