Abstract

This article reports on the industrial management applications of linear programming. The author focuses on the use of linear programming methods as guides to the collection of data. He also discusses research that has been conducted to determine further management planning applications. Nonlinear programming problems associated with management problems are also discussed. Activity analysis models pioneered by T.C. Koopman are used as examples of delegation models. A series of tables depicting transportation models are included.
