Abstract

The article discusses issues pertaining to the Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) between the U. S. and Afghanistan. Accordingly, SOFA dictate how the U. S. military personnel should operate in a foreign country and how domestic laws of the foreign jurisdiction relates to U. S. personnel in that country. Provisions in a SOFA include, but are not limited to, the exercise of criminal jurisdiction over U. S. personnel, customs regulations, and carrying of weapons, among others.
