Abstract: The article presents information on a petition filed by BMW of North America LLC with the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) of the U.S. Department of Transportation to declare that certain vehicles manufactured by the company have not been equipped with the tires as per the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard. The petition has been filed in accordance with the U.S. Code of Federal Regulations. The NHTSA has the authority to restrict the company from its operations.
