The shared burden.

The author reflects on the proposed change in the German constitution made by education and research minister Annette Schavan on March 4, 2012. The author says that the proposal focused on the funding of the government on the infrastructure and large equipment in universities. The author suggests that the federal government should directly assure the survival beyond 2017 of successful institutes.
