Abstract
- The article offers clinical information on body dysmorphic disorder (BDD), a mental condition characterized by a preoccupation with imagined defect in physical appearance or exageration of small physical anomaly. BDD commonly involves the skin, nose, eyes and eyelids. Its symptoms may include suicidal behavior, chronic low self-esteem, and avoidant and dependent personality. An orthodontic perspective on BDD is also presented.
