Congress Backs Off On Online Piracy Bills.

Abstract

The article reports that the proposed bills, the Stop Online Piracy Act and the Protect IP Act, have been placed on hold on January 20, 2012 in the U.S. According to Representative Lamar S. Smith, chairman of the House's Judiciary Committee, the committee has decided to postpone the enactment of the bills. The opposition of Google Inc. and Wikipedia against the proposed bills are highlighted.
