HOW TO MEASURE OUTCOME IN CLINICAL TRIALS OF SUBSTANCE ABUSE TREATMENT.

The author discusses two articles from D. M. Donovan and S. T. Tiffany and colleagues on substance abuse treatment outcomes. He is critical that the papers have been done in the past and the authors have attempted anew to rethink the problem. He also relates that the papers have characterized that the symptoms of the substance dependence and abuse are described in International Classification of Diseases (ICD-10) and Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-IV).
