Abstract

The article focuses on trade issues between U.S. and Mexico which include the dolphin-safe tuna labeling and the sugar disputes in 2012. The first dispute is still on-going where Mexico claims U.S. provisions prevent them from using "dolphin-safe" label for its tuna products. The sugar dispute was resolved in August 2006 when both countries reached an agreement providing free trade of sweeteners between U.S. and Mexico beginning January 1, 2008.
