Abstract
- The article presents a report on molecular evidence for the presence of malaria vector species A of the Anopheles annularis (An. annularis) complex, in Sri Lanka. In India, only species A is reported as a malaria vector, but there is no proper documentation on the occurrence of sibling species in Sri Lanka. The presence of the malaria vector An. annularis species A, is confirmed by the results of the report, in Sri Lanka and Southeast Asia. The background, findings, and conclusions of the study report, are discussed in detail.
