Abstract: The article presents an outlook on the political and economic sectors of Pakistan for 2012-2016. It expects government effectiveness in Pakistan to worsen even further in line with the intensified pressure facing the coalition government led by the Pakistan People's Party. It offers forecast on the real gross domestic product (GDP) growth in 2011-2012 to be driven by private consumption growth. It anticipates a moderation of consumer price inflation to 8.3% a year in 2012-2016.
