Acute Intermittent Porphyria and intracranial aneurysm: Therapeutic considerations.

A case is presented of Acute Intermittent Porphyria and aneurysm of the posterior communicating artery, an association not previously described in the literature. The problems posed by the acute intermittent porphyria in the neurosurgical management are discussed. Finally, the drugs that do not cause induction of the enzyme δ-Ammolaevulinic Synthetase are indicated. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
